Qatar, host country of the World Cup-2022 (November 21-December 18)will face Ecuador in the opening match of the tournament.
The match will be on November 21 at the Al Bayt stadium, according to the draw held this Friday in Doha.
Qatar will play its first World Cup final phase. As well as Ecuador, the hosts will meet in Group A against the Netherlands and African champions Senegal, who qualified after eliminating Egypt.
Ecuador, classified by South America, is led by coach Argentinian Gustavo Alfaro.
“Any rival was going to be difficult. Our transformation is that others consider us a difficult rival… It is a very big responsibility, the World Cup attracts the attention of the world, and everyone wants to be at the opening party, and that’s where be Ecuador,” Alfaro said at Goal Caracol.
