The directives that aspire to stop being news
«The ‘status quo’ is changed from the action and for that we are here. We do not want to be news, we only aspire to normality, ”explained the women members of the Association of Directors of the Region of Murcia (Adimur). In a manifesto published yesterday, they defended that women “are a profitable investment”, since “the productivity of a company increases up to 20%” when they are incorporated into management positions. In order to break the glass ceilings, “legislation that commits to real conciliation measures” is necessary.

In the afternoon, a meeting was organized with artisans from the Region to recognize their professional and creative work, in which the General Director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, participated. In addition, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Carmen Navarro offered a jewelry workshop with polymer clay. In the Regional Craft Center of Lorca, a ceramic modeling workshop was held with Rosa María Playá.

‘Women on the Move’ as a reflection of migration
The organizations Alboan, Entreculturas, the Jesuit Migrant Service of Spain (SJM) and the Ellacuría Foundation yesterday presented ‘Mujeres en Marcha’, an initiative that draws attention to the rights of women and girls, especially those of migrants and refugees. Pili Kaltzada, a communicator for Linking Ideas, pointed out that ‘Mujeres en Marcha’ “takes a step forward with a political advocacy initiative.” Lucía Rodríguez, head of the Advocacy Department at Entreculturas, pointed out the need for migratory policies that take into account the inequalities that affect women “in origin, transit and reception”. In addition, she encouraged citizens to sign so that the gender perspective is included in the European Pact on Migration and Asylum.
