In view of Women's Day, the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome in Imola is preparing to turn pink. Or rather, to celebrate the combination women-movers: on March 8th the photographic exhibition “Women and motors? Joys and that's it”, created by the Fratelli Cozzi Alfa Romeo Museum Foundation and sponsored, among others, by NiEWa strategic consultancy company based in Modena, The project, in its second edition, has a very specific objective: to redefine the connection between women and cars.
The figure of the woman
“Too often, in fact, the car has been associated exclusively with the male world, while women have been marginalized or even denigrated. Through a series of photographs, the exhibition seeks to trigger a profound change in perspective. It's not just about presenting suggestive images, but about actively working towards a broader cultural change – we read in a note signed NiEW – The heart of this initiative lies in its intent to stem the clichés that we too often associate with the female automotive world. Enough with the disrespectful stereotypes: it is time to recognize the value of the image and role of women in this sector, which has always been considered purely male”.
20 author shots
The protagonist of this exhibition is Camilla Albertini, photographer and artistic director of the project, who chose to immortalize 20 women active in different professions, each with their hands on the steering wheel and the gaze turned to the rearview mirror: what came out is a visual narrative that transmits strength and individuality, a collective album intended to “highlight the importance of achieving and preserving genuine and authentic equality in the eyes of observers”.
Not only in Imola
The Imola circuit will not only host the exhibition. After the exhibition at the WoW Women Motor congress on March 8th and at the Autodromo until March 11th, it will be the protagonist at the GT Queen event from March 16th to 17th in the event area in the atrium of the Municipality of Lugano, while it still is and will be until next March 11th at Villa Brentano, in the Sala Fontana of the Busto Garolfo library. A traveling exhibition often accompanied by Elisabetta CozziPresident of the Museum, who on the occasion of this last appointment on the list will give a guided tour of the exhibition on March 6th at 6.00 pm.
