The government of Uruguay has announced that it will start vaccinating tourists who enter the country from November 1st. However, not everyone will be able to go to the neighboring country to get immunized.
At this time, only elderly people who have not yet taken the third phase and children and adolescents aged 12 to 18 who live in countries where this age group has not yet been covered will be able to take the doses. Foreign adults are not on the list, as entering the country will require full immunization with two or a single dose.

According to Minister Tabaré Viera, Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou has already approved the measure, and the Ministry of Health’s approval is needed for the project to be made official.
Since the 1st of September, Brazilians who prove they have land or real estate in the country can now enter Uruguay. The rest will have to wait until November 1st.
There are still no details on how the schedule will be or which immunizing agent will be offered, but the trend is for it to be Pfizer’s, the only one so far that has been approved for teenagers.
The country was considered an oasis in the coronavirus pandemic and has a very low moving average, as it already has 75% of the population fully immunized. There are days when no deaths from the disease are recorded there.
