If you attend the Villa de Molina Theater today, prepare to see violence. But also beauty among so much violence. All the beauty of a Shakespeare text. Teatro del Noctámbulo offers ‘Tito Andrónico’, a version by Nando López of the tragedy of the great English playwright. From the numerical point of view, there are plenty of murders, mutilations and a rape. There is no doubt about his brutality. However, for the director of this proposal, Antonio C. Guijosa, there is something more fascinating in the text that is not the violent acts, “but the mechanisms that lead to that violence and the extent to which it is exercised.” In the montage it will be known “how its characters, regardless of their motivations -or justifications-, use violence to the greatest degree that their ingenuity and their circumstances allow them” and will try to answer several unknowns: “Why don’t they stop? Why don’t they look for a justice mechanism?

After ten years of war, Titus Andronicus returns to Rome victorious and with the Gothic queen Tamora and her three offspring as prisoners. After sacrificing the eldest of them, Tito only aspires to seek tranquility and rest because, although he seems triumphant, his soul is fatigued by the harshness of the fight and the early death of most of his children. At his side is Lavinia, in whom he sees the hope of a future that may be able to escape violence. For the time being, the tranquility will not last long.
José Vicente Moirón, Alberto Barahona, Carmen Mayordomo, Gabriel Moreno, Alberto Lucero, Jose F. Ramos, Quino Díez, Lucía Fuengallego, Carlos Silveira and Iván Ugalde give life to a collection of characters motivated by revenge.
