When asked during a press conference with foreign media what the victory of either candidate could mean for US-Russian relations, Putin responded, saying, “In general, there is no difference.”
The most prominent points of Putin’s statements regarding Trump and Russian-American relations:
– We do not believe that after the elections, anything will change regarding Russia and American politics.
Putin considered it “ridiculous” to believe that candidate Trump would be more tolerant towards Moscow.
Putin also saw that the judicial troubles of Trump, who was criminally convicted, were the result of “internal political tension” between Democrats and Republicans before the US presidential elections in November.
Putin explained, “It is certain throughout the world that the prosecutions against Trump, especially before the courts over accusations developed based on events that occurred years ago, without direct evidence, are simply a use of judicial power within the framework of internal political tension.”
Putin confirmed that the Biden administration is “committing one mistake after another” at the level of international and domestic policies.
Putin pointed out that, “With what is happening (in the United States) in the context of internal political tension, they are burning from within, their state and their political system. They are burning from the roots their alleged leadership in the field of democracy.”
The world must be multipolar and monopoly must end.
– The United States does not want Russia to succeed in any field.
The accusations that Trump is a spy for Russia are baseless, and it is difficult to predict that changes will occur if he is re-elected.
We do not interfere in internal American political affairs, and we will work with any president they elect.
