And it is that, The author has commented that the main character of another of his manga works definitely adheres to the design of Anya Forger and that it was overwritten, the mangaka commented that it just turned out like this, it’s not that he plagiarized himself:
“I really just adapted the design without thinking about it. Anya’s design is almost the same as Ashe’s, just simplified.”he commented.
The protagonist we are referring to is Ashe Talton from Rengoku no Ashe. The one-shot was published in Jump SQ and later got a new edition for Shōnen Jump+ where it was published instead of a chapter of Spy x Family. It was a special moment because we learned about what linked both stories.
And Ashe Talton is Anya Forger but a few years older! The now iconic pink hair with the little horns —which also remind us a little of Lucy from Elfen Lied— is present in the protagonist of the one-shot. So we pretty much see Anya as a teenager. Any fan of Spy x Family will appreciate this! Especially since we don’t know if Anya Forger’s original story will continue into her teenage years.
