Reader, if you are interested in athletics, you will know who David Canal is (46). But if not, I put on the track. At the beginning of this century, David Canal was one of the best four -concentists in the world: Olympic in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004.

Aurora is author Tetuán, his wife.

Together they have three children: David (10), Sheila (5) and Daiana (3). They all live in Alberic, 45 kilometers from Valencia.

– For many years I have lived in hell. He lived in absolute apathy. Volume antidepressants, anxiolytics and sleeping pills.

“What did she do?”

–I said: ‘You’re right’. And I went to trot. From the beginning I was better, although the first days were horrible. It endured a quarter of an hour at 6m00 per kilometer. He told me that it was worthless. Aurora, patiently, kept pushing me. That is why I say that it has been the difference between life and death. She went down to the well to get my light.

– And you kept running?

–I mounted a plan to rebuild myself. Organizing me was simple. Aurora works during the day, I take care of the children: I take them to school and then I have time to go to the gym or the slopes of Alzira. Of course, I must be aware of who I am. Now I am the 46 -year -old David Canal, not the 24th. I looked for a coach. In six months I have dropped to 83 kilos.

– I am realistic, although I am a little lost with the world of veterans. I intend to reach 50, which is when you change category and measure rivals between 50 and 55. By then I will take three years training. What motivates me most is to dedicate a great championship to my wife.
