Attending this weekend at the pavilion attached to the Víctor Villegas Auditorium is a full-fledged gastronomic experience. From today until November 6, the finest local and neighboring cuisines in the Murcia Gastronomic Region will meet there. The congress welcomes flavors for all tastes and ages, taking a culinary tour of the Community through the characteristic products and establishments of each area. Region of Murcia Gastronomic It’s here and this is all you can do this weekend.
Cane and tapa on the street
With more than 50 establishments including restaurants and wineries, Calle de las Tapas will once again be the most sought-after and busiest space at this fair, as well as the epicenter of gastronomic proposals. The space set up on the terrace, floor 0 and floor 1 promises to make all attendees’ mouths water as they observe, smell and taste the almost infinite possibilities of tapas displayed in stands custom designed for the occasion.
Among the most coveted dishes will be classics from the congress, such as gazpachos from Los Chispos, and many new participants, such as Cosa Fina, Taúlla or Maguro. To accompany the meal, you cannot miss a very cold Estrella de Levante or a good DO wine from the Region.
Sunset with DJ on the terrace
After toning the body with tapas, the terrace will do its magic during the after-dinner meal with coffee, drinks and cocktails. In the new expanded space of one thousand square meters, the starting signal is given to welcome the sunset with a good coffee from Salzillo or a premium cocktail from Schweppes. And if there is a terrace, you can’t miss music to set the scene. On this occasion, the tardeo comes from ME DJ, Madbel DJ, Anfri DJ and Sra. Tarde.
luxury presentations
Those attending the presentations at this edition of the congress should only be clear about one condition: tradition and innovation are not opposite poles. With this statement in mind, you will be able to enjoy and savor all the appointments with the cooks and chefs who will reveal the details and secrets of their cuisine. Most of the presentations will be given in pairs, combining a signature cuisine restaurant with a traditional one. In addition, many will include a tasting of their creations for the first thirty attendees, who will be able to taste dishes from chefs such as Sergio de la Orden, Pablo González, Mario Sandoval, Kiko Moya or María José Martínez, the last three with a Michelin Star.
Taste and learn
The bulk of the congress is focused on enjoyment, but it also has another fundamental pillar: learning. The workshops and tastings return in this new edition to offer a wide range of culinary and oenological lessons between courses. In a fair that praises the products of the Region of Murcia, wine tastings from Jumilla, Yecla and Bullas cannot be missing, with a prominent place in the programming. The workshops also include cheese, bluefin tuna and anchovy tastings, as well as showcooking of hamburgers and sushi.

For the little ones
Adults can enjoy – a lot – the fair, but it is not exclusive for older people. The little ones also have an agenda of activities that includes the play library with a children’s menu and the ‘Minigourmet’ workshops, which in this new edition will teach children how to cook cookies, pizzas, dumplings or nuggets, among other appetizing recipes. Will anyone be left without enjoying the flavors of the Region?
