The British manufacturer’s head of endurance, Adam Carter, explained that it will adapt to the proposed rule requiring competitors in the Hypercar Class to enter two cars if necessary.
Last October, Aston Martin and partner team Heart of Racing announced single-car plans for both the WEC and IMSA SportsCar Championship, but it has since emerged that the World Championship is planning to force two cars on the manufacturers in 2025 .
“We fully support the WEC’s initiatives for the growth of the championship,” said Carter. “We are committed to the program: we will review the regulations and adapt. At this point it is speculation, until the regulations are clear, and we will make an announcement in time debt”.
It seems certain that the two-car rule will come into force next year, although it remains subject to approval by the FIA World Council.
Heart of Racing is expected to field two Valkyries in the WEC, although Carter would not confirm this when asked about the matter, but confirmed that the IMSA program will not be affected by any regulatory requirements in the WEC.

The LMH Valkyrie is still awaiting a track debut by the end of Q2 2024, a timeline revealed on the project’s launch.
“It will be right at the end of the second quarter, everything is on target; then we will start track testing in July,” Carter explained.
Initial testing will focus on one car that will run in Europe, before a second is introduced for testing in the US at IMSA circuits later this year.
“We will initially focus on a test car in Europe, and once we pass a certain mileage threshold, we will bring another one to the United States.”
Carter also confirmed that testing with the AMR Pro track version of the Valkyrie, from which the new LMH was developed, has concluded.

A program focused on systems, software and data acquisition included a Silverstone outing in January and another two days at Portimao in April.
Heart of Racing’s new headquarters in Brackley is already operational and Carter described Multimatic Motorsport, which developed the AMR Pro after the original Valkyrie LMH was born in 2020, as a “service provider” for Heart of Racing.
“Eventually Multimatic will take care of it, but it will be a Heart of Racing team,” he explained.
