After the podium and the victory obtained among the private teams (FIA World Cup for Hypercar Team) in the first two seasonal events of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Ferrari 499P number 83 of AF Corse is expected to test its reconfirmation on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, which will host the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship from 9 to 11 May. The iconic track located in the Ardennes represents the perfect testing ground for cars, drivers and teams in view of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the next round on the calendar.
The yellow 499P with red details will therefore return to action with its crew made up of Robert Kubica and the official Ferrari drivers Robert Shwartzman and Yifei Ye. Together they will try to aim for the leadership of the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams, in which they currently occupy second position in the standings, just one point behind the top.
The action at Spa-Francorchamps begins on Friday 9 May with the first two rounds of free practice. Saturday will be the turn of the third round, which will precede the qualification and the Hyperpole, scheduled for 3.30pm and 3.53pm CEST respectively. The race will then start on Saturday 11 May at 1.00pm CEST and will last 6 hours.

Robert Kubica: “The third round of the FIA WEC will be at Spa-Francorchamps, one of the favorite tracks of many drivers, including myself. Compared to Imola, this track has completely different characteristics, so I can’t wait to discover the Ferrari 499P on the curves of this beautiful circuit. It will also be the last race before the most important event of the season, so it will be another fundamental step in preparing us for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
Robert Shwartzman: “Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most beautiful tracks in the world and I can’t wait to get on track behind the wheel of the Ferrari 499P. I’m sure we have everything it takes to have a nice weekend and have fun. The team is working very well in this first phase of the championship and an excellent synergy has been created.”
Yifei Ye: “I can’t wait to race at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend after achieving my first victory in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams in Imola. The objective in this event is to continue to do well and achieve another important result. I really like this circuit and I think our car will adapt well to its layout. Maybe we will find difficult conditions, given that the weather here is always unpredictable, but I can’t wait to get on track.”
