Autumn the exceptional heat will move temporarily to the side in the southwestern parts of Finland, when rain will arrive from the west during Tuesday evening.

During Wednesday, the rain will spread more widely to the east and southern parts of the country.

“In the capital region, the heaviest rains will be concentrated in the morning hours of Wednesday,” says Foreca’s meteorologist on duty Sara Salonen.

Temperatures count until at least Friday. Deaf heavy rains are also expected on Friday. Even local thunderstorms are expected.

“There is still uncertainty about where the heavier rains will be concentrated,” says Salonen.

The weather will remain unstable in some parts of the country even during the weekend, but at the same time, especially in Eastern Finland and the capital region, it will be slightly sunnier.

“When the sun shines, the temperatures rise above twenty,” says Salonen.

The end of the week the cooling and rain will only affect the warm weather of September from a momentary distraction. According to Salonen, it is possible that by the end of next week, there will even be close to helle readings again.

“There is no big change in sight for next week. Pretty sunny and warm weather is expected for a large part of the country.”

There have already been eight hot days in September, which is a new record in Finland.

“This exceptionally warm situation in September has been made possible by a slow-moving high pressure that has settled on the eastern side of Finland, which has allowed very warm air to flow from the south, says Salonen Forecan in the bulletin.
