Weather Midsummer forest fire warnings in almost all of Finland – check the situation in your area before lighting the whole

Warm weather and no precipitation add to the warnings.

Forest fire warnings are broadly valid for Midsummer in this outlook, according to a forecast from the Finnish Meteorological Institute. It is a good idea to check the current warnings in your area before lighting a fire or size.

“On the night between Friday and Saturday, bonfires should be lit, but this time in southern Finland we have to come up with another program,” the meteorologist on duty at the Finnish Meteorological Institute Tuukka Keränen commented on the situation.

On Thursday, forest fire warnings are promised for Åland, Southwest Finland, Satakunta, Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso.

On Friday the warnings extend slightly further north from the southern coast: Pirkanmaa, Päijät-Häme and Kanta-Häme, Ostrobothnia and parts of Lapland.

On Saturday, the warnings will spread to an ever-widening area, and on Sunday they will be in effect almost throughout the country.

According to Keränen, the extent of forest fire warnings is due to midsummer.

“There are widespread forest fire warnings because the temperatures are promising for midsummer and not very heavy rainfall.”
