There are many questions that the mayor of Locorotondo has asked himself about the affair of Dominic Gallothe child disappeared for 8 hours without anyone seeing him. It all started when the little boy, while playing in the courtyard of his house, vanished into thin air. The alarm was immediately raised and the search machine was set in motion: for eight hours no trace of the child was found. The disappearance of the little boy has caused great concern and disbelief, especially because the child was able to walk for several kilometers, even near a very busy local road.
Mayor Bufano also highlighted a strange coincidence: the private road near the house, usually closed by a gate, was instead wide open.
“Many tourists flock to our valley, they would have noticed, or perhaps the child crossed the land. It is not easy to understand, it will be up to the police to reconstruct how he was able to get away like that.”
The investigation continues and will also focus on the child’s story. He will be heard with the help of experts once he is discharged from the Giovanni XXIII pediatric hospital in Bari, where he is under observation. Fortunately, the little boy is doing well.
The happy ending came thanks to the efforts of some residents involved in the search: the child was under a tree fig tree, a few kilometers from home, in the Serralta district. He traveled 2-3 km and had only scratches and a small wound on his head.
It still remains a mystery how the child was able to wander so far away without being noticed. Investigations are continuing to clarify all the details of this incredible story. One of the two men who found him told Telebari:
“When we found him he was standing, a little dazed but fine. He only had a cut on his eyebrow but he wasn’t bleeding anymore.”
The man, knowing the area of the forest well, decided to scan it from a secondary entrance. A lucky intuition because Domenico was right there:
The area is inhabited and leads to the little boy’s house and we did it in reverse and fortunately after 50 meters we found him. He was hidden under the tree and that’s why the plane didn’t see him. He was well hidden and only when we called him did he come out”.
