Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, first expansion announced, ‘Void Shadows’

Six months later, Owlcat today announced Void Shadows, the first DLC of the game, whose release date is set for August 8, 2024.

New story, enemies and characters

Void Shadows adds a new campaign with a story that integrates into the original one, expanding its boundaries: in the expansion it is possible to delve into the depths of the voidship in a compelling story, which also presents a completely new enemyintent on destroying the von Valancius dynasty from within.

Two new archetypes with unique abilities and new story content are added to the main campaign: Kibellah, a Death Cult assassin she is the new companion “ready to commit her life to the service of the von Valancius dynasty, just as her predecessors did for previous generations”.

There will also be some new romance options as part of the story.

There will also be new crew members to interact with, high-level officers who will play an important role in the story. The new threat of Void Shadows is represented by the Genestealer Culta Tyranid-obsessed faction well known to Warhammer 40,000 fans.

It is “a horrible race of xenos that works in the shadows and infects the crew with its genetic code, to convert them and subjugate them to their goals”.

In the expansion it will also be possible to upgrade the voidship with a new hangar, capable of taking off groups of fighters and bombers. It was also announced that Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader support now fully Steam Deckswhile cooperative multiplayer mode is available for the PC version and will be available in a future patch for the Mac and console versions.
