Stroll and the Aston Martin Dream
Since Lawrence Stroll saved the Force India team from bankruptcy, the Canadian magnate is trying piece by piece to create a winning team with the Aston Martin brand. And lately he seems to be really serious, with the new headquarters in Silverstone, with the exclusive Honda supply from 2026 and the hiring of top-level technicians such as Andy Cowell and Enrico Cardile.
And since 2019 – when the team was called Racing Point – one of the drivers is Lance Stroll, son of the owner, who shares with his father the dream of becoming world champion. And practically every season the discussion about the value of Lance, who has obtained 3 podiums in F1, and about the opportunity or not to keep him in the team, comes back cyclically. In the meantime, last June he made official a multi-year renewal that will see him still in Aston Martin from 2025.
Villeneuve’s opinion
In the interview given to InstantCasino.com, Jacques Villeneuve he wanted to break a lance against his compatriot: “Lance Stroll is one of the most deserving drivers to continue racing in F1, because his father bought the team. Of course he deserves to be there. The team could have failed, so Lawrence Stroll deserves to have his son in F1 and keep him there. Lance is not last, on the contrary is reaching Alonso’s levelwhich has been struggling since it renewed”. And he concluded: “Lance knows he is in F1 because his father bought the team and he knows he has to prove he is fast. But He must understand that there have also been other millionaire drivers with similar privileges, such as Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda and Lando Norris. Lance is lucky, but there is nothing wrong with that and he has to prove he can be fast.”
