The engines are warming up at Villa La Massa Excellence, the event dedicated to supercars and more generally to collector cars built from the 90s to the present day. The location of the event will be a 5-star hotel on the outskirts of Florence, part of Villa d’Este Hotels, for the second edition of an event that was a great success last year.
The new edition
In the 2023 edition of Villa La Massa Excellence, the protagonist was the Ferrari F40 Prototipo, which won the “Coppa d’Oro Villa la Massa” award – inspired by the “Coppa d’Oro” of the Concorso d’Eleganza of its “sister” Villa d’Este. In the garden of Villa La Massa from 11 to 13 October, cars made in limited series by brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bugatti and small manufacturers of special cars will be exhibited.
Public protagonist
Saturday 12 October will be open to the public: thanks to a special day pass (which includes Car Show, brunch and Car Parade). Enthusiasts will be able to experience the charm of the most beautiful cars with a sporting pedigree and modern design, immersed in the captivating river setting of the suggestive gardens of Villa La Massa. Visitors will be asked to vote for their favorite car, which will then be awarded in the afternoon with the People’s Choice prize. There will also be a special Junior jury, made up of children who, with enthusiasm and participation, will select their favorite car, which will receive a special trophy. During the gala evening on Saturday 12 October in the suggestive setting of “Atto” by Vito Mollica at Palazzo Portinari Salviati in the heart of Florence, the “Supercars Firenze” prizes will be awarded, with two rankings and three winners for each: one dedicated to the models that have pushed the Evolution of the automobile and one to those that have represented Innovation. Special prizes will be awarded, among others, to the car with the highest mileage or to the one that has come the furthest by road. Finally, the most coveted prize of Best of Show, Coppa d’Oro Villa La Massa, a name that pays homage to the famous Coppa d’Oro of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
The jury of Villa La Massa Excellence
For the occasion, a very special international jury was created, within which different skills and experiences are represented: Emanuela Frattini, internationally awarded architect and designer; Katarina Kyvalova, international collector and pilot; Emmanuel Bacquet, expert and curator of museums and private collections; Fabio Filippini, car designer and author; Stefano Guindani, fashion photographer and charity expert; Duccio Lopresto, collector and manager of RM Sotheby’s; Marco Makaus, automotive industry veteran, event organizer. All led by Massimo Delbò, established car historian and journalist.
