A drop in temperature is predicted in the south of Russia from October 3. Velvet season is expected to end in about 11 days. This was announced on September 29 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
“Now is a period of noticeable increase in temperature, but somewhere from October 3, the air temperature will begin to drop. Not too critical, but still. Until the end of the first decade, we can talk about the velvet season. Until October 10, this is also a wonderful duration, it is still difficult to talk about a longer period, ”he said. TASS.
As Vilfand noted, after the summer heat, the temperature regime from October 3 in the south of Russia will correspond to the climatic norm.
It is clarified that usually the velvet season in Russian resorts lasts until the end of September.
On August 22, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center predicted a long velvet season. According to him, it will end no earlier than the first ten days of October, despite the fact that, as a rule, it lasts no longer than the end of September.
In addition, Alexan Mkrtchyan, vice president of the Alliance of Travel Agencies (ATA), general director of the Pink Elephant network of travel agencies, told Izvestia on August 19 that prices for beach holidays will decrease in autumn in most areas.
He called Crimea the most budget option. The expert noted that hotels began to reduce prices by 25-50%. In terms of its cheapness, rest in Crimea is ahead of Sochi, Abkhazia, Anapa, Gelendzhik and even Dagestan. Mkrtchyan noted that a trip to the Caspian Sea in autumn will cost half as much, but at this time it will no longer be possible to swim.
Earlier, on August 13, tour operators told Izvestia that the demand for trips across Russia during the velvet season had more than doubled compared to last year. The most popular destinations are Sochi, Anapa, Crimea, Dagestan. But Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Abkhazia remain the leaders in overall sales.
