The Game World

In 1498, the Empire of Egas is in the grip of an unprecedented crisis. A dark pall has enveloped the skies, bringing with it a relentless cold, devastating famines, and the invasion of evil creatures such as vampires and werewolves. In this context, players take on the role of the mysterious Vile Stirpevile, recruited from the Order of the Twilight to face these supernatural threats.

However, their very existence is a source of tension between the Church And the empiremaking their journey a constant struggle not only against dark forces, but also against their own inherently dark nature. This epic adventure, full of conflict and moral choices, promises to keep players on the edge of their seats as they seek a balance between light and darkness.

Approaches and Personality

Each character has six approaches that represent different ways of dealing with situations: impetus, will, ascendancy, reason, precision And subterfugeCharacter sheets include keywords describing personality and training, which can be brought into play to gain additional dice during tests, making characters’ actions more effective and interesting.

The game system is simple and intuitive: each statistic will have a die assigned to it, which will define the chances of success, and the other keywords will help to add dice to the roll, allowing you to choose the highest.

The final result will be decided by the difficulty level: if passed, it will give the player space to tell the achievement of their goals, ask for information or remove negative conditions, otherwise the Darkness can introduce complications, that is, new obstacles and unexpected developments. If the value is exactly the same as the difficulty of the test, both things will happen.

Dark Legacies and Gifts

Dark legacies describe characters’ ties to darkness, allowing them to accomplish extraordinary feats. Whenever a Bloodline explores their dark heritage, the darkness die causes complications (the only d12 in the entire game, which will be added to the other d6s, d8s, and d10s).

Gifts are unique powers tied to dark lineages, which can be activated by marking a box on the character sheet. Characters’ origins and dark lineages provide inspiration for complex and nuanced Kin. These elements influence how characters face adversity and develop over the course of the game.
