If a car has a brake light and a windscreen, it can participate in the Vrij Rijden circuit session. Very cool, because this way everyone can experience what it is like to drive on the circuit for a few bucks. The downside is that there is also less suitable stuff entering the circuit. Such as a standard Skoda Octavia Combi or a tired Volkswagen Golf 4 Variant. Or a Citroën Saxo with perseverance, but a little too much pace.
Add to that the fact that there are enough drivers who have to earn a good income after a winter break, and you have an entertaining video. For example, another Golf forgets that the circuit is a one-way street. Below you can see the highs (and lows) of last Saturday’s Free Driving at Assen session.
The owner of the broken Clio writes in the comments on YouTube: ‘That Clio is mine. I got upset and wasn’t quick enough to respond. Earlier that day I had handled it well, including in the same corner, but this time it caught me by surprise, and by the time I realized it, it was already too late.’
