The Portimao track today saw Marc Marquez return to a world championship circuit. The Cervera rider descended on the asphalt of the Portuguese track this morning to study his chances of being ready for the pre-season tests of the MotoGP, which will be held on 5 and 6 February in Sepang.
Three months after his accident on an off-road motorcycle, an excited Márquez showed up on the RC213V-S, a sports bike very similar to his MotoGP, which will serve as the basis for his official return to the premier class. With this goal in mind, the Repsol Honda rider wants to test how stable his vision is at high speed and under load.
After officially announcing that he did not need surgery for his eye injury, Marc begins preparations for his long-awaited return to MotoGP, after he has had a forced vacation to recover from his diplopia (double vision). .
Along with training sessions held on a cross-country track last Thursday after getting the green light from the eye doctor, this is the second time the # 93 can be seen on two wheels. This confirms a clear improvement in the conditions of the eight-time champion, who has already lost the 2021 preseason due to a serious injury to his right arm.
As we can see in the video posted on the Repsol Honda Team social networks, this bike accompanied the Cervera rider on a decisive test, which will open the doors to a season that will begin on March 6 in Qatar and to which he hopes to be fully recovered.
In this way Marc Marquez also slams the door to rumors that several times had indicated him as close to hanging his helmet on a nail due to the eye injury, which occurred on October 30th and which had forced him to skip the last two races of 2021.
