Let’s see this cute video by actor and youtuber Alasdair Beckett-King who satirizes them a bit differences that there are among the video game advertising and the video games themselves. How many times have we come across beautifully edited trailers, with spectacular computer graphics sequences and scenes built specifically within game engines to look their best, only to be disappointed with the gameplay, whose impact turned out to be much less to that promised by the material created for marketing?
Especially large productions often adopt the technique of creating hype with trailers that show nothing in play, but try to sell the game on an emotional level. After all, this is the job of marketing one might say, but in some cases reality and promotion clash to such an extent that it is not possible not to feel a little deceived.
From this sentiment the video by Alasdair Beckett-King was born that we are not going to tell you so as not to spoil the surprise, but of which we say that it takes up many of the clichés typical of the promotional campaigns of the industry, including the classic quotations of the press … because every crime needs its accomplices (kidding, of course).
