Maddox was charged with four felonies, as reported by the NBC Boston website: traveling to meet, after using a computer, to attract a minor; soliciting a minor by computer, illegal use of a communication device and promoting a performance that includes sexual performance by a minor.

The baseball player’s arrest report states that he “expressed his intention to have sexual relations with a minor, even after she told him she was 14 years old.” He was discovered because the person he had communication with was an undercover agent.

In the conversation, Maddox agreed to a meeting place with the victim, where the Police found him and knocked him to the ground to effectively capture him.

The baseball player is detained, with a bail of 300 thousand dollars, and is scheduled in court for next May 28.

Maddox had a short career in Major League Baseball. After being part of the University of Florida team, he joined the Boston Red Sox, with only one season in the first team, in 2017.

He managed to appear as a pitcher in 13 regular season games. In 17 innings, he had a 0.52 ERA. He also was in two games in the postseason, in which the Red Sox lost the division series to the Astros in four games. Houston’s team won the World Series that year.
