Víctor Requena and Isabel Pelegrín prevail in the San Silvestre de Cartagena

The 41st edition was made to wait three years. It was the first after the pandemic, held with total normality and without restrictions and, therefore, there was more desire than ever. It started its start at 11:30 a.m., before the aperitif, when thousands of people were waiting impatiently at the Cruise Terminal in the port. Many of them, as is customary on this day of the year, were dressed in curious costumes: Superman, Mario and Luigi, the Joker, unicorns or cookie monsters brought color to New Year’s Eve morning.

Regarding the race itself, Víctor Requena, a UCAM athlete, dominated it with an iron fist from the beginning to the end. The runner stopped the clock in 18.04, at a spectacular pace of three minutes and six seconds per kilometer. After him came two regulars in this test: Alberto González and Juan Manuel. Both reached the goal in a friendly attitude next to each other.

In the female category, Isabel Pelegrín was champion with a time of 21.09. The second position went to Eva María Sánchez and the third classified was Elvira Gutiérrez. The Dean is organized by LA VERDAD, the Cartagena City Council and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia (FAMU).
