The Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) from Venezuela seized 10,000 liters of chemicals used for drug processing in Apure state, bordering Colombia, the head of the FANB’s Operational Strategic Command, Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported this Thursday.
“FANB continues to exercise sovereignty in our cross-border axis, 10,000 liters of precursor chemicals for the seized drug processing and destroyed in camps of Colombian invaders in the Páez municipality, Apure state,” said Hernández Lárez on his Twitter account.
The official did not detail what type of chemicals were seized or if there were detainees.
Hernández Lárez announced, on May 21, that two landing strips built by alleged Colombian drug traffickers in the border state of Zulia were destroyed.
“URRA Mérida (Rapid Reaction Unit) returns undefeated from the Catatumbo Lightning Operation with the destruction and rendering useless of two landing strips built by the ‘tancol’ in the south of Lake Maracaibo to use them as platforms for drug trafficking,” the official said on his Twitter account.
In recent months, the Venezuelan authorities have taken action in the border states with Colombia to attack the “tancol”, an acronym invented by the Venezuelan government that does not refer to any specific gang and with which they refer to the ” Colombian armed terrorist drug traffickers”.
