Vasco loses on penalties to Juazeirense and falls in the Copa do Brasil

Vasco was eliminated from the Copa do Brasil after being defeated 4-2 in the penalty shootout, after a 1-1 draw in the 90 minutes, by Juazeirense, this Wednesday (9) at the Adauto Moraes stadium, in Juazeiro.

With the ball rolling, Cruzmaltino even opened the scoring in the 5th minute with Bruno Nazário, but the home team managed to leave everything equal before the break with a beautiful goal from the side Nildo.

As equality lasted until the end of the 90 minutes, the spot for the third phase of the national competition was decided by penalty kicks, where Juazeirense was perfect and Vasco saw Nenê and Anderson Conceição make mistakes.

Also this Wednesday, but at the Pioneiros stadium, in Pato Branco (Paraná), Azuriz beat Mirassol 1-0, thanks to a goal by Berguinho in the 10th minute of the first half, to reach the third stage of the Copa do Brasil in its first entry into the competition.

Opening of the second phase

The first games of the national competition were held last Tuesday, and had classifications in penalty shootouts. The most exciting was Santos, which, after a 1-1 draw in the 90 minutes, beat Fluminense-PI 5-4 in the penalty shootout.

The game, played at Albertão, in Teresina, marked the debut of Peixe’s new coach, Argentine Fabián Bustos.

Who also advanced was Cuiabá, who, playing for Orlando Scarpelli, beat Figueirense 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
