Guadalajara Jalisco. – The State Prosecutor’s Office (FE) of Jalisco, announced progress in the investigations in the case of the death of Valeriaunder two years of age who died in the municipality of Tototlanand who would have died for a poisoned cookie It was addressed to his dog.
According to forensic investigations, Valeria died of pulmonary edema derived from the presence of phosphide in your body, which would be a herbicide used to clean some grains.
“The Aluminum or Zinc Phosphide, are used as pesticides in agricultural countries… and have the characteristic that when in contact with water or acidic pH, they react forming Phosphine gas (PH3). This reaction occurs in cases of Phosphide intoxication, being the Phosphine gas the cause of the intoxication, since it acts on the Central Nervous System and intestinal output causing vomiting, ataxia, seizures, coma and even death normally two hours after ingestion in severe cases”, text taken from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences of Guatemala.
For their part, the Jalisco authorities reported that so far it is not possible to assert or rule out that Valeria ingested the poison through a cookie and the context of how she could obtain this food.
They mentioned that they continue with the investigations and interviews, in addition to waiting for new forensic results that will allow them to determine how the two-year-old girl was able to ingest the herbicide.

On the other hand, at the press conference where they reported on various issues, they also announced progress in the case of Edward Solomona minor who was taken from his home on February 4 and murdered sometime between that day and February 6 when his body was found in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga.
Regarding this issue, the FE reported that two more women were arrested, which would add three people that will be investigated for their probable commission in the crimes of Disappearance of Persons by Private Parties.
