Another company that is excited about the prospects of resuming travel despite variant advancement omicron, is the Spanish airline Air Europa. Since European countries started accepting flights from Brazil again, the company’s planes are almost 100% full, according to Gonzalo Romero, director general for the country.
The favorite destinations for Brazilians have been Portugal (48%), Spain (33%) and France (8%). Work and family are the main reasons for traveling. For now, Air Europa operates flights from São Paulo five times a week. The expectation is that takeoffs will become daily, if the Ômicron variant allows it.
