Ice hockey: Peterka wins German duel with Seider
Vice world champion John-Jason Peterka celebrated a sweeping victory with the Buffalo Sabers and clearly won the German duel with Moritz Seider in the NHL. The Sabers beat the Detroit Red Wings 7-3 and inflicted their sixth consecutive defeat on Seider's team. Peterka scored Buffalo's final goal of the game in the second period, his 21st goal of the season.
Tim Stützle also had reason to celebrate. With the Ottawa Senators, the 22-year-old won against the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 after overtime. Ottawa conceded the equalizer 23 seconds before the end of regular time, and in overtime, Stützle provided the assist for the winning goal.
The match day ended unsuccessfully for Nico Sturm. With the San Jose Sharks, the attacker lost 2-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers and remained without a goal. Basketball: Hartenstein and Knicks celebrate victory – clap for Theis
National basketball player Isaiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks celebrated a prestigious victory in the North American professional league NBA. In Madison Square Garden at home, the Knicks managed a clear 106:79 win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday evening (local time). New York thus consolidated its place in the top six of the Eastern Conference and extended its lead over the seventh-placed guests to two wins.
Hartenstein was in the starting line-up and played a total of 20 minutes. During this time he scored six points and grabbed five rebounds.
World champion Daniel Theis and the Los Angeles Clippers have now lost the showdown with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In a duel between two top teams in the Western Conference, the Clippers suffered a clear 100:118 defeat in their own stadium. Los Angeles therefore missed out on getting closer to the top trio in the conference.

The Milwaukee Bucks around superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had to accept an unexpectedly significant defeat. At the Sacramento Kings, the Bucks lost 94:129 despite 30 points from their top Greek player. For Milwaukee it was the third defeat from the last four games.
