Migration crisis
Mexico’s border with the United States is experiencing a new wave of migration with more than 1,000 migrants in Ciudad Juárez.
According to the authorities, the majority of illegal migrants live on the streets, They are vulnerable to kidnapping and other organized crime crimes.
Santiago González Reyes, director of Human Rights of the Municipality of Juárez, indicated that many of these people saturate parks, ruins and walls, where they survive without any services because they do not want to stay in shelters and they do not have enough money to rent a home.
“People on the move are people in vulnerable conditions, which exposes them to organized crime, which is why we are going to invite them to safe places such as the municipal shelter,” the public official told EFE.
