The United States will announce “in the coming days” new military aid to Ukraine, the White House said Wednesday.
“We’re interested in making sure that (the Ukrainians) have the means. That’s why we’ve pledged more than $13 billion in military aid to Ukrainian forces. We will continue and there will be announcements in the coming days for new aid,” White House National Security Council Information Officer John Kirby said.
He declined to provide more details about an attack launched by Ukraine in the south of the country, especially around the city of Kherson, which is controlled by Russia.
“We leave it to the Ukrainians to talk about military operations, whether offensive or defensive,” John Kirby told a news conference.
Washington constantly announces the various types of military aid it provides to Ukraine.
Its most prominent announcement came on August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, when US President Joe Biden revealed nearly $3 billion in aid.
