The title will take place in the Marvel universe, and will develop a deep narrative with doses of action and adventure.
Perhaps you do not know the route made by Amy hennig, but this screenwriter has stood out in the world of videogames for her work as a creative director in franchises such as Uncharted or Jak and Daxter, something that complements her incorporation in Forspoken. However, the winds led her to go through Visceral Games and later found her own development studio: Skydance New Media. A company that, together with EA veteran Julian Beak, has taken its first step in creating its next game: a collaboration with Marvel herself.
The studio is preparing an AAA action-adventure game set in the Marvel universeThis was announced by the study through their website, where they also detail some aspects of their first title as Skydance New Media. A AAA project that, within the Marvel universe, will develop a deep narrative accompanied by doses of action and adventure. An initiative that aims to follow the lines of the study in terms of interactive entertainment, as it aims to create “an innovative convergence of games, movies and television.”
In the statement shared by the studio, both Skydance New Media and Marvel express their emotion for the collaboration announced, as Hennig considers that “it is an honor to be able to tell an original story with all the humanity, complexity and humor that make Marvel characters so enduring and to allow our players to embody the heroes they love” .
We’re excited to share more with Marvel fans at the right time.MarvelFor its part, Marvel praises Hennig’s talents and celebrates the partnership: “Amy has been putting the high bar in games with narrative adventures for decades, and we are happy to collaborate with the experience and talent of the New Media team in Skydance. “Something that they accompany ensuring that” we are excited to share more with Marvel fans in the right moment“.
Skydance New Media has a template experienced in AAA gamesas well as creative consultants with knowledge of the world of film, television and comics. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the result of this collaboration is, which at the moment appears to be oriented towards a large project.
This is not, by any means, Marvel’s first step in the video game sector, since it has recently given us next to Eidos Montreal a Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy that, with a much smaller size, has captivated us with trailers from the eighties. A title whose battles and arguments fit perfectly with the style of the original characters, something you can read in our analysis of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
