According to his spokesman, Guterres is already in the western city of Lviv, where this trilateral meeting will take place in which, among other things, the operation of the agreement that allowed unblocking Ukrainian cereal exports through Black Sea ports will be reviewed. .
In addition, the head of the United Nations plans to hold a bilateral meeting with Zelensky to discuss the general state of the conflict, the need for a political solution and other issues such as the situation at the Zaporizhia nuclear plant, according to the organization.

On Friday, Guterres will visit Odessa and its port, which is being used to export Ukrainian grain as part of the UN-Turkish deal.
The following day, the Portuguese diplomat will travel to Istanbul, where he will visit the Joint Coordination Center (JCC, in English) that watches over the fulfillment of that pact.
This is the second trip Guterres has made to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion last February.

The UN Secretary General visited the country last April, as part of a tour in which he also passed through Turkey and Russia and in which he organized the evacuation of civilians from the besieged Azovstal plant in Mariupol, which took place a few days later with the support of the United Nations.
On that trip, the agreement for grain exports also began to take shape, which took months to materialize.
