Lohja resident Noora Honkala was again at a record pace in the ultra run.

On the night between Saturday and Sunday, Honkala won the 12-hour race in Sparta with a Finnish and Nordic record. He ran a run of 145 kilometers and 400 meters.

Honkala won all the male runners in the two-kilometer run.

Honkala broke Satu Lipiäinen 140,920 kilometers of the former SE run in Joensuu last November. Last year, Lipiäinen and Honkala were the two best in the 12-hour world statistics.

In time, Honkala will rise to third place in all-time world statistics. American Camille Herron ran 149,130 miles in 2017. German Nele Alder-Baerens ran a European record of 148,071 kilometers in 2019.

Honkala, who started violently, was even at a world record pace for a long time. In the meantime, he also improved his own Finnish records in the 6-hour run, the 50-kilometer run and the 100-kilometer run.

Honkala signaled from the race venue that the 12-hour run was not reached at the end of the ME due to stomach upset.

Honkala, currently living in Greece, represented the sports club Spartan Runners in the competition. In domestic competitions, he represents the Lohja-based ultra-running club called Endurance.
