The TFR reported about the shelling by Ukraine of a Russian cargo ship in the Sea of Azov
On March 12, the Ukrainian military fired on a Russian cargo ship in the Sea of Azov. About it informs The Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) on its website.
According to the agency, the Sormovsky 3064 civilian ship, which was located 12 kilometers north of the village of Shabelskoye in the Krasnodar Territory in the Sea of Azov, came under fire. It was heading from the Greek port to Taganrog.
The TFR notes that military personnel conducting military operations in the south-east of Ukraine fired indiscriminate weapons. The shell hit the cabin of the chief mate, which started a fire on the ship. The crew localized the fire, and the ship left the water area in the affected area.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Attempted murder of two or more persons, committed in a generally dangerous way, by a group of persons”). The investigation establishes all the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in this from among the Ukrainian military personnel.
On March 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced a complete blocking of the exit of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Sea of Azov.
