(Reuters) – Ukraine’s Atomic Energy Ministry said on Sunday that power has been restored to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, meaning the cooling systems will function normally and will not have to use backup power.
The ministry made the announcement in an online post. Ukraine had previously warned of an increasing risk of radiation leakage if a high-voltage line to the plant was not repaired. She had been damaged in fighting.
