Ukraine’s presidential adviser Mikhail Podoliak said an agreement on a temporary humanitarian ceasefire had been reached in Thursday’s talks with Russia. “The parties reached an understanding on the joint creation of humanitarian corridors with a temporary ceasefire,” he said on his Telegram channel. Podoliak added that the Ukrainian negotiating delegation “did not obtain the expected results, but will continue the dialogue in a third round of talks”.
Also according to the presidential adviser on Thursday, at the first meeting of the delegations, held on February 28, “some Russian proposals” related to an “immediate ceasefire” were discussed and, in “general, there was an understanding at the table”. of negotiations”. On the other hand, “as was to be expected, the Ukrainian side took some time for reflections and consultations in Kiev,” Podoliak said.
