Russia allegedly used cluster bombs in Kharkiv, in eastern Ukraine, where today at least 11 people lost their lives in an attack by Russian forces in the war against the neighboring country. Mark Hiznay, deputy director of the arms division of Human Rights Watch, told the Washington Post, thus referring to an indiscriminate and non-targeted attack. “This attack clearly shows the indiscriminate nature of the bombs and cluster and must be unequivocally condemned,” he said, saying he saw photographs of the attacked location.
Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and Bellingcat’s group have identified the use of cluster bombs in other Russian-led attacks in Ukraine in the past two days.
“What just happened in Kharkiv is a war crime! This is the genocide of the Ukrainian people,” said Governor Oleh Synyehubov, sharing videos of several missiles that hit a residential area.
