The meeting between Russian and Ukrainian authorities started on Monday (28) in Belarus ended without an agreement to end Russian attacks on Ukraine. After nearly six hours of dialogue, the members of the negotiating table agreed to return to their countries for consultations and to hold a new round of talks in the coming days.
According to Russian news agency RIA, presidential adviser Vladimir Medinsky, who attended the meeting, said that “points by which it is possible to predict common positions” were found. He added that the new meeting will take place in the coming days also on the border between Ukraine and Belarus.
At Monday’s meeting, Russia was represented by, in addition to Medinsky, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov. On the Ukrainian side, the adviser to the head of cabinet of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, the minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, the vice-chancellor, Mykola Tochitsky, deputy David Arakhamia and Andriy Kostin, deputy head of the delegation were present.
