Next March 7 is the deadline established by law for all companies in the country with more than 50 employees to have their equality plan registered. The Secretary for Women of the UGT in the Region, Ana Belén Barqueros, stated that “the Region has 732 companies with more than 50 workers on their staff and only 90 equality plans have been registered.”
This represents only 12% of all companies. At the national level, “the figures are similar, since only about 5,000 equality plans have been registered, out of the 30,000 that should be approved,” he explained. For Ana Belén Barqueros, “it will be necessary to have a greater time margin for the negotiation and greater resources, given the serious bottleneck that is going to occur based on the available data.”
