In the sky over the country residence of French President Emmanuel Macron – the Latern mansion in Versailles, two unmanned aerial vehicles were seen. On Sunday, October 24, the newspaper reported Le parisien…
According to the newspaper, the drones flew at about 22:00 local time (23:00 Moscow time) and then headed in the direction of the neighboring city of Chenet. It is noted that the French leader himself was in the mansion at that time. The gendarmerie was unable to establish who owns the drones.
The publication reminds that any flights in this strictly protected area are prohibited. An exception was made only for light aircraft of the local aviation club, on which, so as not to disturb the president, the engines were equipped with mufflers. Violation of French rules for the operation of drones faces a fine of up to € 75 thousand or a year in prison.
This is not the first time a drone has flown over the residence of a French president. As I wrote Le parisien In May 2020, a 22-year-old medical student was arrested by police for launching a drone near the mansion. As the investigation found out, the young man acted without malicious intent, he just wanted to remove from the air the canal of the Palace of Versailles located nearby. After that, the prosecution ordered the termination of the criminal case.
Earlier, on September 26, it was reported that Macron and his wife Brigitte had filed a complaint with the Paris prosecutor’s office against the photojournalist Thibault Dalifard, who released photographs of the head of state from his vacation. On the showcase of the art gallery, which is located opposite the Elysee Palace, for about two weeks everyone had access to an exhibition with images of the French leader. At the same time, the exhibition also included photographs of previous leaders of France.
