On the night of December 31 to January 1, the Ukrainian television channels Pryamoy and Fifth showed an appeal by the country’s ex-President Petro Poroshenko instead of the speech of the current head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The leader of the European Solidarity Party, Poroshenko, sold the aforementioned TV channels belonging to him after the adoption of the law “On the oligarchs”. As noted by the “Fifth” TV channel, the purchase was made “at the market price.”
At the same time, Poroshenko’s appeal in the coming year of 2022 lasted about 5 minutes. In the frame, the politician was present with his wife, Marina. The ex-president during his address mainly spoke about the situation in Donbass.
Earlier, on December 20, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine announced the possible involvement of the ex-president in high treason. However, in the process of presenting the suspicion, the former Ukrainian leader ignored the security officials and left. Then Poroshenko left Ukraine.
After that, on December 27, Poroshenko announced that at the beginning of 2022 he would definitely return to the country according to his schedule, which he did not intend to coordinate with Zelensky. According to Poroshenko, he will return in the first half of January and will give “answers to all questions – both regarding high treason and the financing of terrorism,” which the ex-politician is accused of.
