Tijuana, Baja California.- The government of the municipality of Tijuanaled by Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, secured two tons of pyrotechnics during the “Christmas in Ord” campaignen”, through which nearly 500 citizen complaints were addressed.
The operation was carried out thanks to the coordination of the Municipal Government Secretariat and the Inspection and Verification Directorate. Both agencies enabled the WhatsApp number (664) 616-3339 since last November 18, so that the population could make the pertinent complaints.
Adolfo García Dworak, head of the Municipal Inspection and Verification Directorate, announced that more than 50 percent of the complaints received were related to the sale of fireworks in grocery stores and markets on wheels, mainly. He explained that in addition to addressing the complaints, they reinforced the operations in different parts of the city.
“That resulted in a historic seizure of just over two tons of fireworks by the City Council; The citizens are trusting the government of our mayoress Montserrat Caballero Ramírez and they are denouncing it because they know that we are going to act, we are going to withdraw that merchandise and we are going to penalize it,” the official said.
Far from concluding, the operation was reinforced by inspectors from the Tijuana City Council, who made loud calls at strategic points to remind the ban on the use and sale of fireworks. They even supervised establishments and businesses, according to information issued in an official bulletin published this Saturday.
