The viral TikTok video with more than 100,000 ‘likes’ motivates the definitive expulsion of the control members of the entertainment venue for LGTBIphobia
The Maná San Javier nightclub, located on the Mar Menor coast of the Region of Murcia, issued an official statement on Monday after several days of controversy on social networks in which it notified the dismissal of two of its employees for “discriminatory behavior” . In the statement published by the club through Instagram, Maná San Javier explains that “two of the workers that make up the staff did not allow access, according to their allegations, to a person because the clothing did not match the ‘dresscode’ of the event , thus inviting her to change her clothes to gain access».
Subsequently, the nightclub doormen again denied access to this person, who “came back changed.” The control and security employees justified themselves by stating that the young people affected “disrespected them”.
In the viral video that the user @kirabrunett uploaded to TikTok and that already accumulates more than 100,000 likes on the platform, it is observed how the doormen deny the affected person access to the disco. In addition, the three anguished young people also appear at the door of the compound while denouncing the situation they were suffering.
As a result of the repercussion that this homophobic attitude had on the part of the workers of the nightclub, Maná San Javier decided “in parallel to the verifications that we are carrying out, imminently expel these two employees definitively.”
The nightlife venue, through the statement, justified itself by stating that “our workforce is made up of 30% people of another race or ethnicity and 15% of the LGTBI community.”
Finally, the establishment apologized for what happened and stressed that “it is difficult to control 100% of the words or behaviors carried out simultaneously by 127 people during all working hours. We have incorporated new controllers dedicated exclusively to dealing at the door.”
