Judge Aileen Cannon this Tuesday indefinitely postponed the date of the trial in Florida (USA) against former President Donald Trump (2017-2021), for the criminal case of mishandling of confidential documents found in his possession after leaving the White House.

In her order, the judge argued that prior litigation, including disagreements over how classified information is used during trial, should await resolution.

In the order, Cannon notes that due to “the myriad of pretrial issues” pending resolution, “it would be imprudent and inconsistent” to consider the various motions filed by the parties closed.
According to the accusation, the former president kept classified files – which included records from the Pentagon, the CIA and the National Security Agency – without security at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida and hampered official efforts to recover them.
But Trump already pleaded not guilty in a Florida court last June.
The magnate’s lawyers have tried to delay his various criminal cases until after the elections, in the hope that he wins and can avoid the federal charges against him being in the White House.
Trump has also argued that going to trial in the weeks before the November election would amount to political interference because otherwise he should be campaigning.

Nauta and De Oliveira pleaded not guilty last August to obstruction of justice charges related to alleged attempts to delete surveillance footage at the former president’s residence.
Trump passed off the payment to the former actress, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, as legal expenses from his then-personal attorney Michael Cohen.

This Tuesday, That trial experienced its most stressful day with the testimony of Daniels herself, who described in great detail her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006 in a hotel.
Daniels delivered graphic testimony about the sexual encounter with Trump—his underwear, the sexual position, that he didn’t use a condom—as the former president watched in silence.
