Prevention is the best way to treat blisters and chafing
Brand new shoes are very nice, but they can also be problematic. Surely more than once you have gone out with new shoes that have started to cause pain in your feet when you took a few steps. It can happen even if they seem very comfortable, because they may not have molded to the shape of your feet yet and can cause chafing and even blisters. These are produced by the continued friction of the shoe with an area of the foot and are accumulations of fluid under the skin.
A time when many people suffer from this ailment is the summer with the beloved and at the same time hated sandals. The beginning of this season and wearing new pairs for the first time can become a risky activity, because the material of the garment is in direct contact with the skin. The friction is more intense and it is likely that chafing will end up coming out, which is the most uncomfortable for day to day.
The best way to treat them is prevention, because once they appear, you have to wait for them to heal and scar so that they stop hurting. The first thing you should keep in mind is to choose sandals that suit the shape of your feet, but there are also some tricks that you can carry out on your own to avoid suffering chafing:
1. The correct size is one of the main ways to take care of your feet. To do this you must check that both feet are accommodated from the heel to the toes, without feeling the shoe tight or too wide.
2. Using moisturizing cream on both feet and shoes is another option to prevent chafing because it minimizes friction and protects the skin. Vaseline, aloe vera or talcum powder also works.
3. Dry your feet very well before putting on shoes, because moisture can cause fungus, infections and chafing. Both the water from the shower and the sweat itself can affect the friction on the skin.
4. Making your shoes a little bigger can be a solution if you feel they are too tight. It is also advisable to make them flexible if the material is very hard. One of the ways you can follow is to fill a bag with water and insert it into the tightest part of each shoe. Put them in the freezer and when the water freezes they will increase in size.
5. Walk around the house in socks for a few days to mold them to the shape of your foot. You can also do this by wearing thin tights.
