In a room of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Circuit in Imola, crowded with journalists and professionals of the sector, the debate on the progress of green mobility took place, with the engineers who took a picture of the current situation and possible future scenarios.
To do the honors was the President of the Imola circuit, Gian Carlo Minardi, who declared: “it is a pleasure to host Go Smart Go Green. The racetrack is active in the field of sustainability. Also thanks to the municipal administration, we have launched numerous investments to make our plant even greener and diversify our commitments, including events that promote sustainability ”.
“I would like to thank Go Smart Go Green because together we can integrate the sports world with urban mobility”, said the Mayor of Imola Marco Panieri. “Our territory is characterized by a strong tradition linked to mobility. The racetrack is a public property and is a very important interlocutor. Sustainability, but also safety for which we have welcomed with great pleasure the national tour of Go Smart Go Green which also involves the historic centers of the cities. I see in this initiative a great opportunity for the territory, because together we can give the necessary boost to this new mobility ”.
“A councilor at the racetrack who works together with the councilor for the environment seems a contradiction, in reality the common goal is to change the narrative of this racetrack”, commented Councilor Elena Penazzi, Autodrome and Tourism. “The racetrack is known for its glorious past but also for its beauty in its 70 years of history. Heritage is combined with a vision of the future. We have found a convergence of intentions aimed at making the racetrack something useful, different and an example for many similar structures. We like the idea of teaching even the little ones, children and teenagers on electric mobility to bring young people closer to the racetrack and do it in terms of sustainability “.

Councilor Elisa Spada Environment and Sustainable Mobility underlined: “Our way of working together for a new perspective of the racetrack linked to sustainability has led us to create what is the Imola living lab, a project based on the objectives of the Agenda 2030 that we reported again this week in the UN road safety forum in Geneva as an example of replicability. Working on the 2030 Agenda and sustainability means working on some issues such as environmental sustainability, road safety and inclusion, through a vision that is transformed into infrastructures (cycle paths to support electric mobility, expansion of electricity columns but also supply from renewable energy sources). The implementation of the photovoltaic system will allow us to increase the power and the surface of the photovoltaic panels in order to have a carbon neutral racetrack and devote part of the energy to the community. Culture plays a fundamental role in this, for this I thank Go Smart Go Green which allows us to find new languages and forms of involvement of the population regardless of age “.
Raffaele Prisco (Coord. Technical Management FMI): “The FMI has been dealing with the electric for some time and I believe that by governing the motorcycle sector this has become a necessity. The automotive sector is a little further but it is also coming into motorcycling. Making culture also means changing the approach and mentality of the enthusiast. The history of the electric is recent but we have already been carrying out a project for 5 years that introduces children to electric off-road vehicles. Not only that, we recently launched a project in educational programming called “Sport and Electric motorcycle which aims to train high-level mechanics. This is just one of the many initiatives that the IMF welcomes, promotes and develops a culture of sustainable mobility. Go Smart Go Green is an educational event that involves the FMI federal instructors ”.
Gianluca Nannelli, the creator of the event: “This project was born from my desire to take to the streets and contact as many people as possible, going beyond pure enthusiasts. I strongly believe in training. When you learn how to manage a two-wheeled vehicle as a child, many accidents are prevented. This will allow our children to walk around safer. GSGG’s goal is in fact to make people aware of what it means to manage a motorized two-wheeled vehicle. Specifically, the electric motorization allows us to arrive in the heart of the city, in the heart of the people. Our training is aimed at children as well as adults. Learning the correct use of an electric vehicle also means being more
aware and more sensitive to the environment. We federal technicians, thanks to a specific training course and our experiences on the track, have these techniques and we want to share them with the youngest ”.
The appointment with sustainable mobility continues today and tomorrow between Piazza Matteotti in Imola – fulcrum of the “Guido Bene. Guido Sicurezza ”, the brand new introductory course for safe driving thanks to dedicated to very young people aged 6 to 17 – and the Santerno circuit with the possibility of taking a lap of the track together with professional 2- and 4-wheel drivers.

The program
The event will take place between the city of Imola and the Enzo e Dino Ferrari International Circuit to involve the entire population.
For a weekend, Piazza Matteotti will be transformed into the capital of the start-up to safe driving thanks to the new format “Guido bene. I drive safe ”dedicated to the very young. There are many initiatives dedicated to children aged 6 to 12 and to children up to 17 with dedicated programs that will take place on Saturday 24 September from 16:00 to 18:00 and Sunday 25 from 10:00 to 17:00. All the activities carried out in Piazza Matteotti in Imola are free for educational, training and information purposes for young people and there will be no promotional and / or sales stands of the individual companies participating in the event.
The beating heart of the historic center of Imola, Piazza Matteotti is the ideal place for the use of electric vehicles. Together with the technicians of the FMI Federal School of Speed, the children will be introduced to the safe driving techniques of an electric scooter.
Children aged 12 to 17 will have the opportunity to use electric scooters and mopeds. In addition to a real driving school, the focus will clearly be on safety. In particular:
– Emergency braking
– Sudden rejection of an obstacle
– Optimal body position according to the action
– Correct driving position
