The person died instantly after being hit by the train passing near the town of Cavaria
The news reached the media just an hour ago and the details are still scarce if not very few. It is known, however, that a person was hit on the tracks and that there was no hope of saving his life. All attempts to recover in extremis the life of the person hit by the train I was, unfortunately, useless.
The tragedy took place along the railway line between Varese and Gallarate. An individual died instantly after being hit by a train passing near the town of Cavaria. Rescue attempts that took place a few moments later, unfortunately, proved unsuccessful. There are still many questions surrounding the dramatic event.
The accident occurred this afternoon, Tuesday 6 August, around 4pm. According to the first information available, the victim was hit by convoy 25575, which had left Biasca and was heading towards Malpensa. The emergency services were immediately alerted, and shortly after the 118 paramedics arrived on site with an ambulance and medical car, together with the firefighters and railway police officers.
As could also be foreseen on board the train, the intervention, albeit rapid, of the rescuerswas not enough to save the victim. Authorities are currently trying to identify the person involved. The railway line between Varese and Gallarate has been temporarily closed. Law enforcement is working to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident and how the person ended up under the train.
Precisely because of the reliefs and the investigations necessary by the competent authorities, at the moment the situation on the route is substantially at a standstill. The circulation of trains on the Varese-Milan Lancetti line, in fact, is currently suspended, with significant problems such as delays, variations and cancellations of trains. In the next few hours we will undoubtedly know more details and information on the identity of the victim of this sad end.
