Queues lined up in front of pharmacies in England today, Saturday, to wait to receive anti-coronavirus doses on Christmas Day, as efforts continued to confront the increasing infections with the virus.
Citizens were seen waiting to receive the doses at Christmas, as the booster-dose program continues during the holiday period in England, according to the British news agency “PA Media”.
The National Health Service thanked the health sector staff who work or volunteer on Christmas Day.
“From vaccine providers to volunteers, porters, paramedics, midwives, mental health practitioners, and all other essential workers, we thank everyone working during the holidays,” the NHS said on Twitter.
On Christmas Eve, Health Minister Sajid Javid urged citizens to receive the vaccine, saying: “Make the booster a part of Christmas this year,” as the numbers show the extent of the threat posed by the mutant Omicron.
