They arrest a 15-year-old minor for stabbing a classmate, with whom he had quarrels, at the Alfonso Escámez de Águilas institute
The young RF, 15 years old, did not stop hanging around his head that day last May, when he was the center of ridicule from his classmates. In the courtyard of the Alfonso Escámez de Águilas institute, he had an argument with a classmate, D., a year older than him. At one point during the verbal dispute, RF threw a punch at D. and he responded to the attack by making a headlock from a martial art that he practices and which left the attacker out of action, exhausted and lying on the ground.
Those who witnessed that fight reported that martial maneuver as an amazing act. For his part, the defeated young man was the center of taunts. Dejected and humiliated, the rage towards D. grew and he thought of revenge. That episode was the one that several adolescents, classmates of both, pointed out yesterday at the door of the educational center, as the trigger for the alleged attack with a knife by RF to D. during the exchange of class from first hour to that of second.
RF was enrolled in the educational center, located next to Pico del Aguilica, but had not yet attended class since the course began. The first time he set foot in the institute in the new course was yesterday, but he did it without a backpack, without books, without the intention of instructing himself in any subject and with a knife “that a friend had left him” kept in a pocket of the trousers, as the minor declared to the Civil Guard yesterday afternoon.
“I did not attend class because I was afraid of him,” the alleged aggressor defended himself in Civil Guard facilities
He arrived at the center before 9:30 a.m. and waited patiently for the class to end. When she finished, she entered the classroom straight to the desk where D. was, who was lying down, half lying forward, waiting to start the next subject. “He jumped over a table and stuck a knife in his back. He pulled her out and stuck her in again. He tried to repeat the stab, but he could no longer remove the blade and left it stuck, “explained one of the students, a companion of the victim, to THE TRUTH when he left the institute.
According to witnesses, RF ran out of the class and fled through the back of the school, towards a bush area. Meanwhile, D. remained lying on the floor, motionless in the middle of the classroom, in a pool of blood, with the spike stuck in his back. His scream had alerted a teacher, who was the first to attend to the minor of the injuries that he presented. The 112 Emergency Coordination Center received several calls at 9:28 a.m. indicating that a minor needed urgent medical help, because he had been stabbed by another youth in the classroom.

Several ambulances, members of the Local Police and the Civil Guard attended the scene of the event. The toilets verified, after a first assistance, that the child’s life was not in danger, since the stab did not reach vital areas. After being treated at the educational center itself, he was transferred, at first, to the Rafael Méndez de Lorca hospital, and later to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia, where he underwent surgery, since the leaf affected a lung.
“He made my life impossible”
After spending three hours unaccounted for, the alleged aggressor went to his home on the advice of his lawyer, criminal lawyer Eduardo Simó, where Benemérita agents were waiting to arrest him. The minor, who is facing a crime of attempted murder, declared at the Meritorious barracks that «D. he made her life impossible». He reminded the agents of the attack he suffered in May by the victim, and for which, according to him, D. “was expelled from the center.” He also told them about the day he was in computer class listening to music and D. came over and turned off the computer for him. “On that occasion we had a fight and there was also an expulsion,” he said. “I did not attend class because I was afraid of him,” he defended himself. For that reason, he carried a knife yesterday, he said. “I approached him and saw that he was reaching for his case where he has a brass knuckle, that’s why I got scared and pricked him, but I’m sorry,” he concluded.
The minor will spend this Tuesday morning at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, whose prosecutor will decide between his release or his admission to a center.
Third violent event in classrooms of the Region so far this year
So far this year, there have been three events involving weapons in educational centers in the Region by students. The first event occurred last February when a 13-year-old minor from the Monteagudo school in Murcia stabbed his teacher in the middle of the class and in the presence of his classmates. A month later, a 12-year-old boy came to his class at the Virgen de la Fuensanta school in the Murcian district of La Alberca with a blank pistol hidden in his backpack. In this sense, the ANPE teachers’ union said yesterday that they have been denouncing “the deterioration that school coexistence is suffering” and reiterated it yesterday after the event that occurred in Águilas.
